SCSCC Board of Directors Actions


The Computer Club Board of Directors took the following actions

at the meeting on Wednesday, January 9, 2008


Motions Passed:

1. Resolution to authorize the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary to sign checks and other documents as necessary in regard to the Nevada State Bank accounts. Motion made by Irene Burt, seconded by Rich Walko and approved by oral affirmation.

2. Motion to approve the 2008 Sun City Summerlin Computer Club Budget was made by Edna Bulach, seconded by Tom Kimber and approved by oral affirmation.

3. Resolution was made that the Computer Club and the Club’s facilities will be closed during the following 2008/09 Holiday dates. Any other holiday closing not enumerated below will be at the discretion of the person in charge of the activity in question. Motion was made by Irene Burt, seconded by BJ Martens and approved by oral affirmation.

  • Monday, May 26 – Memorial Day observed

  • Friday, July 4 – Independence Day

  • Monday, September 1 – Labor Day

  • Thursday, November 27 – Thanksgiving Day

  • Thursday, December 25 – Christmas Day

  • Thursday, January 1 (2009) – New Year’s Day

4. Edna Bulach made a motion to cancel the July 3, 2008 General Membership Meeting since it would be a long weekend for many members with the 4th of July falling on a Friday. The motion was seconded by Tom Kimber and approved by oral affirmation.

Actions taken at the January 9, 2008 Board Meeting:

The Board approved George Lobue’s request to hold a second weekly Hardware SIG on Fridays in the Classroom. This will be attended by "invitation only" and will not be advertised on the Classroom Schedule.

Actions Passed to the 2008 Board at the December 12, 2007 Meeting:

  • Possible combination of the Social Activities and Volunteer Coordinator positions.

  • Determine method to get more coaches and greeters.

  • Determine necessity of the Publicity Chairman position.

  • New Member Orientation Program.
