Bizarre American Laws

The study, practice, and enforcement of Law are serious business, but like all topics it is not without its humorous eccentricities.  This fun website, entitled "Weird American Laws", documents the many old state mandates that, despite being clearly outdated, remain on the books as legitimate laws.

Visitors can browse the site alphabetically to read about the many bizarre laws from all fifty states that have somehow survived despite the effects time and cultural evolution.  Highlights include a Connecticut law that prohibits residents of Hartford from "educating a dog", a Minnesota law that punishes women for impersonating Santa Claus (the sentence is 30 days in jail), and the many books and films that are still banned in various towns across America.
